Hello. Welcome to douggoonDOTcom. All about Doug Goon. That is me. I am, Doug Goon. Moving on, please induldge yourself in my half assed writing attempts, my subpar website layout, and my novice [moving toward amateur] photography. Feel free to post a question in the ask section, or even just pop in to remind me how unreliable I and terribly infrequent I am updating the site. But seriously, enough about Doug Goon, lets talk a bit about me.

3.02.09 -- 7:08 p.m. March is here. Spring is right around the corner. Did you hear that: Mother Nature? SPRING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. I would be extremely unsatisfied if there was say, snow in May, or cold weather until June. Yea, you heard me right, don't make me club any baby seals. [those are fightin words]. January and Febuary flew by. I can't believe its March '09. Sigh, eighteen days till Vegas.

Lots of pictures taken in the last two months. I also upgraded the hardware a bit, bought f2.8 tamron 17-55, and a shiny new speedlight II. So far, loving them both. Tested them out quite a bit with the pets pie and tatertot [peepiopi]. I'm still learning the bounce, and trying to practice, practice, practice. I've also been taking quite a few pictures for the mmo crew. All of the pictures can be found here. And of course, lots and lots of pictures of the second love of my life, Nadine.

Dan the man's birthday came and went. The whole fam enjoyed some teppenyaki at the local Japanese restaurant, Little Tokyo The same weekend, we celebrated my Grandps' [they call him... 'The Captain'] 77th bday as well. Las fotos aqui:

Emily and I have added another to the stable. It's a '98 SL2, with 75k, twin cam argh argh agh... We decided it would be a great time for Emily to learn a stickshift, start driving a five speed, and advance on to the *gasp* six speed. So far, she's doing amazing and has learned really quickly [much faster than I did] the mechanics of the manual transmission. I am so proud of her. So without further adieu, I give you 'Berta'.

I hosted one of the sickest, illest, nastiest, hack sessions I've ever been a part of. Cole, Dave, PatPump and began the night right, with a little fish fry/son-of-mick fish patty conconction, just to get the blood pressure up ya know. Thank you dave for all those nights you lie awake [with your haunted ghost friend] just thinkin' up genious ideas like that. What would we do without you? Soon after dinner, we got down to business...

Lets just say that Pat Kellin came in swingin, many a times. Strelets took over, and he saved the day multiple times. I threw in the towel at about 5:15 a.m. however, the next morning, Pat showed me a picture of a 6:08 a.m. timestamp. For a first session, hackin' till 6:08 a.m., I can't help but assume that guy was made for this.

Last weekend we went to EauC to hang out with D n D [the in-laws]. Doris made the most delicious tacos Friday night. I don't know if it was the special EauC local seasonings or just the fresh fixins' but I ate like four [read: seven] way faster than any human should. Saturday, we went to the Stone's Throw to see Emily's friend Nick perform. Cole met us down there for some drinks, and all in all, twas a good night. Also, Doris made tatertot hot dish on Saturday, AHHMAAAHHHHHHZING. For those who haven't had, do yourself a favor and make/eat some. Sunday, more lounging, and eating delicious hot sandwiches. Yes, I consumed probably over eight thousand calories last weekend. No, I don't regret it.

Chinese New Year at Bill and Karen's was extra amazing. Emily and I brought Sui Mai dimsum appetizers. They actually came out pretty decent. Dana made tons of won tons, and the dinner spread included everything from chinese spare ribs to steamed tilapia. Oh so good. After this year, I can honestly say that Chinese new year is becoming one of my favorite holidays. Pics from the event here:

I will sum up this update by talking about my lovely little pooch. Tatertot is just the most awesome dog ever. I love his smiles, his little wiggles, and his personality. He's been making lots of friends at the dogpark and I have been able to capture the ferociousness on digital stills. Check em out:

This month, the wife and I are headed back to Vegas! Alicia turns 21, and we're celebrating, big dog style. I can't wait for the warm weather, all the good food, and to gamble [read: win] lots of money.
