Hello. Welcome to douggoonDOTcom. All about Doug Goon. That is me. I am, Doug Goon. Moving on, please induldge yourself in my half assed writing attempts, my subpar website layout, and my novice [moving toward amateur] photography. Feel free to post a question in the ask section, or even just pop in to remind me how unreliable I and terribly infrequent I am updating the site. But seriously, enough about Doug Goon, lets talk a bit about me.

4.26.09 -- 7:08 p.m. Welcome to summer. It's official. I've inhaled the warm air of mother nature, heard the drizzles of April showers, and smelt the sweet scent of charcoal and cooked meats. I love it.

March and April have thus proven to be two of the busiest months, evar!!!1!!1 Now that March is finished, things at work are starting to slow down. On the homefront, tis just the opposite as things are starting to get exciting [don't git it twisted gurl]. Emily and I put an offer down on a house and it was indeed accepted [bew bew bew krakow bow!]. I could not be happier. We're looking at moving this summer so I will be sure to appreciate every single St. Paul moment throughout the upcoming warm months. Typical occurances include, loud/frequent sirens, bass rattled trunks, crotchrockets doing fly-bys at 70+ mph, barking dogs, brown bagged booze bottles, and all sorts of 'interesting' foot traffic. Ahhh the memories. I won't lie, this house has been good to me/us. After living here for 6-years-ish, I've grown to love this place.

With all that being said, I can't wait to move. Yes, it is a crap ton of work but oh will it be worth it. Plus, having triple the usable square footage, +++ cash money mint baby. Not to mention, this new place will have a three car garage to house Stacey, Nadine and Berta, kazowwww! I am stoked. I'll be sure to take some pictures and post em up once the whole move is complete.

Backtracking a tad, Mid-march was my sisters 21st. Parents Goon, Alicia, Adam, Em and I hit up Vegas, hard. Let's just say... we did work. I was quite proud of my lil' sis. She held her own quite well in the land of endless booze and gambling. No no, I understand, although she did just reach LEGAL age, this wasn't her first time, I know this. But still, staying out till four in the morning, drinking, gambling, hangin with the hard hitters...it aint for the weak if you know what I mean. My parents took us all out for dinner multiple times including, Peppermill, The Fix, Kahunaville, and lots of In-N-Out burger. Thanks again Mom and Dad for always spoiling us kids with your generosity.

Emily and I stayed at the Rio. It was a pretty awesome hotel. Off the strip but, free shuttles to Paris, and Ballys. They also have a sweet pool setup including a pool with a sand bottom. We saw two shows, Comedy Pet Theater, and a Cirque show. Emily and I gorged ourselves at the Rio Seafood buffet [I had over seven plates of crab legs OM NOM NOM]. All in all, the Rio was a great stay, and the family Vegas trip was one of the best. Pics below:

PattyPump turned another year older. To celebrate, his lovely wife Jen through him a surprise party. Prior to the party, the boys gathered together at Aune's place to do some drinking and head out for some sloppy Lake Minnetonka ice fishing. We didn't catch fish, but we did sing quite a lot of "Give me back my filet-o-fish" as well as induldge in the McD's special 2/$3.00. Old Chicago was the last stop prior to the big surprise. Cole was millimeters away from a straight up bathroom brawl with one of Minnetonka's toughest badasses. After said badass had some choice words with Cole, Killa and I had to restrain him with all our might. Probably saved some broken bones and hospital bills, for the other guy *wink* *wink*

Then came the surprise entrance for Pat. Cole and I completely missed it due to some round-about directions I recived. By the time we showed up at Pat's, all of us unsuccessful fisherman were good and liquored. Lots of laughs were had, many at Cole's expense, and I ate way too much tater-tot-hotdish. Pictures of this glorious event can be found here:

Last weekend, I went up to Canada border to go Sturgeon fishing with the mmo crew. It was quite the experience. Cold, and rainy like I suspected Canada would be, however, the rainy river was unlike any body of water I have ever fished. Up there, Spring had just sprung, and tons of weeds, sticks, iceburgs, and even tree logs were floating past our lines in the water. The biggest fish I pulled in was a 49"er. Took just over 15 minutes to get her on board. An entire trip recap can be found on mmoDOTcom. A couple pics from the trip:

With warm weather approaching, got out and took some pictures of Nadine, including some rolling shots. This is the 2nd time I've attempted rolling shots, and let me just say that, without a rig, it is quite the task. Some of the pictures turned out decent, and some look straight up busch league. A slow shutter speed and mister shaky hands myself is a perfect recipe for blurry pictures. Either way, check em out:

Coming up soon, a roofing project with dan-the-man, summer weddings, many grill outs, moar car pics, and house prep galore. Stay tuned... San Diego.
