2.10.08 -- 5:11 p.m. -- This last weekend I celebrated Chinese New Year and my uncle Mike's 50th birthday. Hot dog! Chinese new year was a great success. Bill and Karen hosted at their house, and there were countless appetizers including Ekkkk Rohhllls, cheese puffs, and steamed meat in noodle. I was able to put these magic fingers to the test by stuffing, wrapping, and pinching some of the steamed meat/noodle [fun soa] like a real chef. Don made the magnificent egg rolls [all sixty!] and cousin Dana conjured the cheese puffs. This was just appetizers, too.

For the din din, Rich made his infamous chinese spare ribs with beans, Dale made lettuce wraps, Bill the fried rice, and there was also some pan fried noodles, beef and vegetable, duck, and much more. The food was scrumtulescently delicious. Auntie Jo regaled us with stories of the restaurant and gave a toast to a great new year. Very good times. Pics below:

Annette came into town! Seeing her was so very nice. I am reminded of how much I miss the Saylors and how much fun they all are. Twas great to see you 'Nette :).

It was also my uncle Mike's 50th birthday this weekend. Celebration at the Lafond house was super fun. The Unc and Auntie came with the little munchkins, Annette was there, even Alicia showed up for once [osnaps squat, gotchu]. Mike even had a special DQ oreo cookie blizzard cake [swoon]. Such deliciousness. We played some horseracing, ate some of grandpas delicious dip, and talked about the best of the best Saylor memories. Premium entertainment.

Spring is coming up soon. El tot is getting itchy for some dogpark and walks around the lake. Emily and I are most definately going to get some bikes this summer. Also, can not wait for the drive in. Packing up the taterburger and camping out in the back of the recreation activity vehicle for some triple feature late night movie watching. It just doesn't get any better than that. Lastly, Nadine has been itching for some TLC a.k.a. wash 'n wax/windows down Q.T. driving. Soon. Ciao.

1.10.08 -- 8:01 p.m. -- Tis a new year. Two thousand eight, precisely. 2007 was a really, really, good year. Each year has it setbacks and don't get me wrong, I had mine. There was however, more good things in the year 2007 than I can ever recall. Ultra-quick-summary-of-two-thousand-seven-in-list-format-shown-below:

Graduated with a degree [B.A.] after 5.5 grueling years.

Moved in with Emily, additionally, got my first pet with Emily, [sir tator tot]

Sold my car, and Purchased my baby, Nadine

Began full-time work, officially and permanently

Fostered relationships with parents, new friends, old friends, and new family

Really... the year can't be summed up in a list, it simply won't do '07 justice. But you get the jist
Christmas '07 was truly astounding. Traveling to and from The EauC, meeting Dan's brothers and sisters, and the always incredible Christmas Eve a la Grandma Goons and Grandma Longs. Emily had her first taste of the infamous mystery Jook soup. Grandma Longs included just as much, if not more, liquor than any year past. Mi madre ran Christmas Jeopardy, and I ate Russian Tea Cakes, sandwiches, meatballs, cheesy potatoes, ham, salad, cheps/deps, and chicken salad till I felt sick. Then I ate some more.

I must have been a geewdd boy this year because every gift was really nice. Some of the showstoppers included an iron [the heavy, durable, no bullshit, old fashioned kind], comfy clothes, trouble light, digi photo frame, impact wrench, GB Packers hat, nice sweater, new necklace [best one i've ever had] and Simon Birch. Honestly, and I know I may think this every year but I feel that this year it's especially true...this Christmas was one of the best ever.

Emily, Dave and I hit up two Christmas parties this year. One was hosted by our lovely friend Lisa KaPisa-FranksandBeans Foster. Festivities included some delicious apps, delicious punch, and a scrumtulescent game of Catch Phrase. Dave and I were the only ones wearing ugly sweaters but really, like a vintage car, the sweaters were so classic to the point of being mint-filthy-sick-awesome. The second party, was hosted by the Kellins out in B.F.E. The house was one of the nicest I have been in, which made the drive worth it. Patrick was in the finest of forms. I was privilidged enough to witness him shotgun three beers in under seven minutes, one of which [I kid you not] went down in under three seconds. Thank you Pat and Jen for your hospitality and good times.

Sneaking up right after Christmas was New Years Eve. I'd like to say this year I went all out, and drank my eyes out but... in reality I did the exact opposite. All you really need to know is that the Savoy Inn may have some of the best pizza I have ever ingested, the movie The Kingdom is both intense and awesome, and the new "ball" that drops at midnight in Times Square, has been upgraded [about time] to awesomeness.

Lastly, I may or may not have purchased an EOS400D and I may or may not be dipping my hand into the digitalSLR photography world.

Coming up this month: the countdown until spring, more icefishing with Dave, more Rock Band with Roeb, and more food consumption/lazytimes/relaxation with Emily. Gotta love it.
